   An expression used to indicate that the speaker is certain of the preceding content, but that the following content can be different from the former.

   말하는 사람은 앞의 내용을 확신하지만 뒤의 내용은 그것과 다를 수 있음을 나타내는 표현.

   ※ 'ㄹ'을 제외한 받침 있는 동사와 형용사 또는 '-었-' 뒤에 붙여 쓴다.

Examples

• 지금 당장은 놀면 재미있을 테지만 얼마 지나지 않아 후회하게 될 거야.

  Playing right now will probably be fun, but before long you'll come to regret it.

• 모든 일이 처음에는 익숙하지 않을 테지만 하다 보면 적응이 되기 마련이다.

  Everything is probably unfamiliar at first, but you'll naturally get used to it as you keep doing it.

• 이미 짐작했을 테지만 요즘 회사 사정이 어려운 편이어서 여러분의 협조가 필요합니다.

  You've probably already guessed, but the company is going through a tough time these days, so we need everyone's cooperation.

• 이번 시험에 합격할 자신 있어? 경쟁률이 높아서 합격하기 쉽지 않을 테지만 최선을 다해 봐야지.

  Are you confident you'll pass this exam? The competition is fierce, so passing probably won't be easy, but I'll do my best.

• 직장 생활이 바쁠 테지만 고향에 계신 어머니께 자주 연락 드려.

  Work life is probably busy, but make sure to contact your mother back home often.

• 여러분들 모두 잘 알 테지만 환절기에는 외출 후 반드시 손을 씻어야 합니다.

  You probably all know this well, but when the seasons are changing, you must wash your hands after going outside.
