-어 먹다

to (do and) eat

Attaches to a cooking or purchasing verb stem to show the resulting food is then eaten; a common everyday collocation such as 만들어 먹다 or 사 먹다.

Examples

  • 저는 주말마다 라면을 끓여 먹어요.

    I boil and eat ramyeon every weekend.

  • 바빠서 아침은 밖에서 사 먹었어요.

    I was busy, so I bought breakfast outside and ate it.

  • 친구들과 함께 김밥을 만들어 먹었다.

    We made and ate gimbap together with friends.
