Meanings

   (formal, highly addressee-raising) A sentence-final ending used to politely order or request the listener to do something.

   (아주높임으로) 듣는 사람에게 어떤 일을 정중하게 명령하거나 권유함을 나타내는 종결 어미.

Examples

• 모두 자리에 앉으십시오.

  Please everyone take your seats.

• 책 25쪽을 큰 소리로 읽으십시오.

  Please read page 25 aloud.

• 모두 조용히 하시고 제 말을 잘 들으십시오.

  Everyone please be quiet and listen carefully to what I say.

• 입사 지원서를 한 장 주시겠습니까? 지원서는 2층 인사과에서 직접 받으십시오.

  Could you give me a job application form? Please pick up the form directly from HR on the second floor.

• 언제든지 저희 집에 한번 오십시오.

  Please come visit our house anytime.
