   An expression used to guess that something is in progress or in a certain state, considering another fact or situation.

   다른 사실이나 상황으로 보아 현재 어떤 일이 일어나고 있거나 어떤 상태라고 추측함을 나타내는 표현.

   ※ ‘있다’, ‘없다’, ‘계시다’나 ‘있다’, ‘없다’로 끝나는 형용사, 동사 또는 ‘-으시-' 뒤에 붙여 쓴다.

• 승규가 요즘 계속 피곤해하던데 일이 힘든 모양이에요.

  Seunggyu has seemed tired lately -- work must be hard for him.

• 어머니께서 음식을 많이 준비하시던데 손님들을 초대하신 모양이에요.

  Mother was preparing a lot of food, so it seems she's invited guests over.

• 학생들이 밤늦도록 공부하는 걸 보니 내일이 시험인 모양이다.

  Seeing the students studying late into the night, it looks like there's a test tomorrow.

• 백화점에 사람이 많은 걸 보니 세일 기간인 모양이야.

  There are so many people at the department store, it seems like it's sale season.

• 아직도 밖에 비가 오니? 사람들이 우산을 안 쓰고 다니는 걸 보니 비가 그친 모양이야.

  Is it still raining outside? People aren't using umbrellas, so it looks like the rain has stopped.

• 승규야, 아버지 어디 가셨니? 배낭이랑 등산화가 없는 걸 보니 산에 가신 모양이에요.

  Seunggyu, where did Dad go? His backpack and hiking boots are gone, so it looks like he went to the mountains.
