it's true that ~, but

Attaches to a verb or adjective stem to concede that something is indeed true before contrasting it with an opposing point; common in speech and writing to soften disagreement.

Examples

  • 그 카페가 예쁘기는 하지만 커피 맛은 별로예요.

    The cafe is pretty, but the coffee doesn't taste great.

  • 일이 힘들기는 하지만 보람이 있다.

    The work is hard, but it's rewarding.

  • 그 사람 말이 맞기는 하지만 태도가 좀 별로였다.
